Rockwall is #1 for Jobs According to CNN Money

Posted by on Aug 19, 2011 in Community, Economy, Heath, Rockwall, Rockwall Economic Development | 0 comments

Rockwall County is rockin’ and rollin’ at the top of our list for job creation. It may be the Lone Star State’s smallest county, but it’s one of Texas’s fastest growing, with a population that’s almost doubled in the last decade.

The county borders Lake Ray Hubbard in the northeast corner of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Development there once centered on homes and recreation, but now Rockwall wants to be a place where its wealthy residents live, play — and work.

Like many of the counties on our list, Rockwall is luring businesses and jobs from
nearby big cities with generous incentives and a higher quality of life. The latest development is Harbor Heights, a seven-story 110,000 square foot office tower slated to open next year. Major corporations like L-3 Communications and Pilgrim’s Pride make their home in the Rockwall Technology Park where more companies are expected to join their ranks.

Chandlers Landing under new ownership

Posted by on Feb 15, 2011 in Chandlers Landing, Community, Entertainment, Lake Ray Hubbard, Restaurants, Rockwall, Rockwall Economic Development | 0 comments

Please join us in welcoming Pat and Linda Adams as new owners of the Club property. Maintenance and cosmetic renovations have begun for an anticipated May opening of the restaurant facility.

Work began approximately 3 weeks ago on the remodel of the club facility. Pat and Linda Adams, the new owners are making a sizable investment in the property to open the facility as “Allure at Chandler’s Landing” which will feature primarily seafood, but with steaks and other items as well.

The target date for opening the facility is as close to May 1st as possible but as a “work in progress” that date is subject to small adjustment. Renovations include a facelift for the grounds and the interior, new HVAC, and wheelchair/accessibility/ lift/elevator in order to make the entire building more accessible.

Although the restaurant will be open to the public-which is necessary in order to achieve success in the competitive restaurant environment in Rockwall- the pool and exercise room will require membership –with which will come other minor amenities as well.

Linda and Pat have passed along their gratitude for the overwhelming support they have received from neighbors and members of the community during the last two weekends while working at the facility, and more information will be passed along immediately as it becomes available.
