Todd Williams invited us out to the Rockwall County Community Garden to discuss Rockwall Plant Swap which is scheduled for this October 10, 2009 at 9am. The Rockwall Plant Swap is a great opportunity for you to swap plants with other Rockwall area residents.
No cost, just bring plants you don’t want and swap them with plants others don’t want. It is that simple and it is a lot of fun! Rockwall Plant Swap will be held at the Rockwall County Extension area, on your right about 0.6 miles east of FM 549, past Riding Club Estates.

Scare on the Square – Bethany Golden – Episode #85
Bethany Golden stops by to promote Rockwall’s second annual ”Scare on the Square” on October 31st, 2009 from 4pm to 6pm. There is going to be Trick ’r Treating with the businesses on the Square, Hay Rides, and more! This is a FREE event, so make sure to come up to the Square and get your fill of the Holloween festivities.

A food and beer garden opens at 11AM - Zanata, Restaurant AVA and Bin 303 provide their spin on great barbecue fare.
Live music also begins at 11AM featuring Mr. X, the Paul Harrington Band, J.D. Cobb and Bad Behavior, the King Bucks and Fat Dixie.
A Poker Stroll is hosted by the Old Town Shoppes on the Square all day. Visit each shop to pick up your cards to make the best hand, best hand wins a great gift basket loaded with cool prizes!
If you’re feeling extra energetic, wake up early for the 5K Fun Run hosted by Rockwall Running Center. Run begins at 8AM, runners can get more information on the fun run and register at www.active.com.

- DRW was conceived by Scott Self after he and 11 other Chandlers Landing Yacht Club members competed and won their division in the 1978 Antigua Race Week.
- First DRW was held in 1982, so the 2009 DRW is the 27th year of the race.
- Proceeds benefit Rockwall Breakfast Rotary and last year raised over $17,500!
- Typically there are some 40-60 boats in the race which totals all crew members to around 300 competing every night.
- In the past, sailors have included World Champions, National Champions, Olympic Champions and Regional Champions.
- DRW is always held the week of June 22nd, the longest day of the year and starts on Sundays and runs through Friday Night.
