Farmers Market – Downtown Rockwall – Episode #43
Richard Matteson gives us an overview about the Farmers Market at Downtown Rockwall. The Farmers Market is in its second year presently and has been a great success and is continuing to “grow”. It runs from May through September every Saturday from 8am - Noon. The Rockwall Farmers Market is a great source for locally grown produce, herbs, honey and flowers.
Rockwall County Master Gardeners – 2009 Tour of Gardens – Episode #31
Richard Matteson interviews Todd Williams, the County Extension Agent for Natural Resources. They discuss the the Rockwall County Master Gardeners’ 2009 Tour of Gardens which will be held on Saturday, May 16th, 2009 from 9am-2pm. The Tour features both private and commercial garden locations all over Rockwall County.

Evan Matteson tells you more about the Concert by the Lake Series, a free summer music series brought to you by the City of Rockwall. Shows start at 7:30pm on Thursdays! Square Market – Fresh and unique foods and wine
Since opening last summer, Square Market has been a huge success in downtown Rockwall. Featuring everything from fine wines to specialty beers, artisanal cheeses and sausages, frozen pastas, olive oils and vinegars, they are exactly what they claim to be: “Purveyors of Fine Foods.”
Square Market has a fantastic deli counter offering hot and cold sandwiches, soups and salads for lunch and dinner. They also offer breakfast from 8:00-11:30am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. As an added bonus, a couple of times each month, they host wine tastings, wine pairings, and cooking classes. The wine tastings are free and are held the third Thursday of each month and usually feature meats and cheeses from the deli. Various other events can be found on the Square Market website.

The City of Rockwall General Election is May 9.
Four members of the council are up for re-election to a two-year term: Mayor Bill Cecil and council members David Sweet (Place 1), Glen Farris (Place 3) and Matt Scott (Place 5). They have all announced their intention to seek re-election.
Early voting begins April 27 and ends May 5.
The election will be administered by the Rockwall County Elections Administrator. Election information is available on the county’s website at
