Each September teams fire up their grills for a smokin’ hot barbecue competition in downtown Rockwall! Residents and visitors flock to the historic town square for a fun filled day featuring good music and good eats! After you participate in the AM, 5k Fun Run hosted by Rockwall Running Center you can take it easy and stroll through the Shoppes of Old Town collecting the winning hand in the “Poker Stroll”! Also occurning is the Rockwall Farmer’s Market as well as the San Jacinto Street Arts Market.

Join us downtown for the first annual Rockwall Rib Rub & Run on September 12, 2009.
A barbeque cook off highlights the event and is open to all persons, no matter whether amateur or professional. For contest registration information, click here…
A food and beer garden opens at 11AM - Zanata, Restaurant AVA and Bin 303 provide their spin on great barbecue fare.
Live music also begins at 11AM featuring Mr. X, the Paul Harrington Band, J.D. Cobb and Bad Behavior, the King Bucks and Fat Dixie.
A Poker Stroll is hosted by the Old Town Shoppes on the Square all day. Visit each shop to pick up your cards to make the best hand, best hand wins a great gift basket loaded with cool prizes!
If you’re feeling extra energetic, wake up early for the 5K Fun Run hosted by Rockwall Running Center. Run begins at 8AM, runners can get more information on the fun run and register at www.active.com.
